Over the past 12 months, we’ve hosted events across the UK that foster joy, belonging, and connection for Black neurodivergent women and queer people. Here’s a glimpse into those memories.

London, UK

We kicked off January 2025 with the launch of Chat & Chill - a games and discussions group event at The Fourth Floor, High Holborn. It became our biggest gathering yet with 60 attendees taking part.

For Valentines, we hosted a Sapphic Sip & Paint at The London LGBTQ Centre, filling the space with an atmosphere of love in all its forms.

Our June 2025 Speedfriending event in Croydon was the perfect opportunity to spark new friendships and strengthen community ties.

On 11 August 2024, we hosted our very first in person event with a Sip & Paint at The Feminist Library. It was inspiring to witness the beginnings of our community and the connections formed in that room. Most importantly, it represented the start of creating spaces where Black neurodivergent women and queer people could come together and feel safe.

Just two weeks later, demand brought us back to The Feminist Library. This time, as a lively alternative to carnival, we offered all the community spirit, minus the overwhelming crowds. It encompassed good vibes and shared joy.

Manchester, UK

Following the popularity of our first Manchester event, we returned in January 2025 with a Sip & Paint to help colour away the winter blues. There was a definite sense of warmth and connection throughout.

In February 2025, we continued our Manchester tour with a Palentine’s crochet workshop. Centred on celebrating platonic relationships and community bonds. Attendees worked on crochet projects while sharing letters of love to themselves — a reminder that self-love is the foundation of all relationships.

In October 2024, we brought our events to the North with a Stitch & Sip at Manchester’s own BlackOwnedStudios — the UK’s first Black co-working space. Our aim was to give Black neurodivergent women and queer people in the North the opportunity to connect and build community. Most of our attendees were from Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Sheffield - places they said were difficult to find communities that encompassed all their intersections. Coming together for Black History Month, it was the perfect moment to reaffirm our sense of togetherness — and what better way than through art, conversation, and creativity? Taught by Steph (@steph.thestitchbish), attendees had the opportunity to stitch adinkra symbols - traditional visual motifs (from the Akan people of Ghana) that reflect a rich part of Black history.

Essex,UK

This event was held in collaboration with Black and Being Essex (B.A.B.E), a community founded by Preen Chakadonha. B.A.B.E provides a directory of Black-owned businesses and events, and also hosts a social group for Black and mixed-race women and non-binary people in Essex. Partnering with them was important to us, as their mission to create safe spaces for Black women and queer people closely aligns with our own.

In February 2025, we headed to Chelmsford, Essex, for our first Sip & Paint in the county. The event created space for local Black neurodivergent women and queer people to come together, showing that community and creativity are just as important in smaller towns as they are in the big cities.
