Come down for a cosy meet up of black women and queer people here in colchester!

This event is run by NeuroNoir CIC: The Black neurodivergent community for women and queers‍ . You don’t have to be neurodivergent to attend this event as we understand many people are undiagnosed and love having these socials to support people wherever they are on their journey! so nds + allies welcome :)

what to expect:

  • a warm social environment to make new friends

  • crochet lessons

  • equipment provided

  • embroidery

  • class on how to upcycle fabrics into yarn

  • how to incorporate slow fashion into your daily clothing

what should i bring?

  • we’ll bring all the tools so you can just grab your ticket and head down :)

  • feel free to bring a long any yarn or materials, resources, fabric, buttons, embroidery items to contribute to the workshop or donate to our not-for-profit for future events

  • if you are a crafter and have your own preferred tools feel free to bring them down to use !

what if i don’t know how to crochet?

  • we will be teaching the beginners in a friendly workshop!

what if i already know how to crochet?

  • you’re still welcome to join us as it’s a social activity that’s great for meeting other black ppl near you!

  • learn to turn old fabric into yarn and how to crochet with different fabrics

  • embroidering to spice up your projects!
